Leona Bridges Director of the SFMTA, Commissioner for the SF Parking Authority
Leona M. Bridges is a Director for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and Commissioner for the San Francisco Parking Authority of the City & County of San Francisco.
For more than a decade, Ms. Bridges was a Managing Director at Barclays Global Investors, one of the world's largest asset managers. During her career in the financial services industry, she focused on asset management as it related to global securities lending/trading, cash management, custody services, client service and business development; representing assets under management of $2 trillion. Additionally, she was responsible for establishing and maintaining civic and community relationships.
Ms. Bridges holds an MBA from Golden Gate University Ageno School of Business and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from San Francisco State University. She established an endowed scholarship in the College of Business to support economically and educationally disadvantaged students at San Francisco State University. She is actively involved in her community and believes that "we are blessed so that we can be a blessing to someone else."
Leona Bridges serves on various community and non-profit boards; San Francisco State University Foundation, Golden Gate University Ageno School of Business Advisory Council, American Baptist Seminary of the West, and West Bay Local Development Corporation. Additionally, she is former General Secretary for California State Baptist Convention, Inc. and she is a member of the National Social Action Commission of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Ms. Bridges was inducted into the Securities Services Hall of Fame by Global Custodian; Special Achievement Award from the Risk Management Association; she received the Citizen of the Year Award from the Golden Gate Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Woman of Achievement Award from Legal Momentum, Inc., Certificate of Honor from the Board of Supervisors, City & County of San Francisco, Trailblazer Award from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women of San Francisco, CA, Political Awareness Award from San Francisco Peninsula Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Charles Hayes Award from Northern California Coalition of Black Trade Unionists and inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame of San Francisco State University.
